Hydrostatic Pressure Test Vessels have been designed and manufactured to allow in house testing of sub-sea technologies down to 6000m water depth.
Two variants have been designed and manufactured; the first has approximately 250mm diameter by 300mm long internally, whilst the more recent design has 450mm internal diameter by 640mm long.
Modelled with FEA (Finite Element Analysis), the chambers are designed to withstand internal pressure in excess of 700bar for pressure testing up to 600bar. As delivered, the smaller chamber has been independently tested and certified for operation up to 400bar (5800PSI), equivalent to approx 4000m water depth, whilst the larger chamber is operational at up to 300bar in its current configuration. Common features on both chambers include built-in subsea connectors to allow testing of live electronics.
